CNTV visits Harvard International Ltd

Mr Wenbin Wang, the General Manager of CNTV (China Network TV Station) visited Harvard International (UK) offices on 11th September, 2013. Mark Taylor, CEO of Harvard International and Christian Corney (Commercial Director) welcomed the guests and introduced products and the business network of Harvard, focusing particularly on set top box products.

Mr.Wang showed a strong interest in the View21 Smart Freeview+ HD Digital TV Recorder and had further discussions with the Harvard team as to how View21 functioned with Freeview and how the Electronic Program Guide had been designed along with how the BBC iPlayer and YouTube applications operated. Mr.Wang was also interested in how to broadcast CNTV worldwide, which can be carried out in the UK by Harvard International by placing CNTV into View21 boxes, thus covering the TV audiences in the UK.

Established in 1963, Harvard international is a prominent consumer electronics company based in the UK, with leading brands which includes Goodmans, View21, Betacom and iLuv. Harvard is the leading supplier of set top boxes in the UK, having in place an excellent sales network with distributors across the UK including Amazon, Argos, Walmart, Tesco, John Lewis etc. Harvard International has offices in Australia, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and in 2012 it was acquired by Chengdu Geeya Technology Company.

CNTV who are owned by China Central Television (CCTV) is a national web-based TV broadcaster. It serves as a multi-language, globalized and multi-terminal online video platform. CNTV provides TV programs supported by 32 sub-stations, 5 featured channels and serves online audiences across 190 countries and districts. By merging IPTV, Network TV, Mobile TV, it has successfully set up a global broadcasting communication system.
